Everything you need to know.
A smile makeover is a personalised treatment plan designed to improve the appearance of your smile. It may involve veneers, whitening, alignment (e.g. Invisalign), gum reshaping, or even implants. Veneers are one tool used in smile makeovers—thin porcelain shells that go over your teeth to improve shape, colour, and alignment instantly.
Porcelain veneers are a long-term solution but not technically permanent. They typically last 10–15 years or more with good care. Because we remove a small amount of enamel to place them, the process is not reversible—but they can always be replaced or refreshed in future.
When done correctly, veneers do not damage your natural teeth. We remove only a minimal layer of enamel (often 0.3–0.5mm) to allow the veneer to fit naturally. In some cases, no-prep or minimal-prep veneers can be done.
Most adults can, but not everyone is suitable. Ideal candidates have healthy teeth and gums, no active gum disease or decay, and realistic expectations. We always do a full dental health check and 3D smile simulation before planning veneer work.
It depends on your smile width. For most people, we do 6–10 upper veneers (sometimes lower as well) to transform the visible part of the smile. We use smile design tools to help you visualise before you decide.
Costs vary by the number of teeth, materials, and the experience of your clinician. Typically, porcelain veneers cost £700–£1,200 per tooth, so a full upper arch smile makeover can range from £6,000–£10,000+. We offer payment plans and finance options to make it more accessible.
A veneer smile makeover usually takes 2–4 weeks from planning to final fit.
Not with modern digital smile design. We customise the shade, shape, and translucency to match your face, age, and personality. The result is a natural, confident smile—never a “one-size-fits-all Hollywood white” unless that’s your goal.
Whitening is a great option for minor discoloration or if you’re happy with the shape and alignment of your teeth. But if you have chips, gaps, crowding, or deeper staining, veneers may be more suitable. Often, whitening is combined with other cosmetic treatments in a smile makeover.
Veneers are strong but not indestructible. If one chips, it can usually be repaired or replaced. We recommend avoiding biting hard objects (like ice or fingernails) and always wearing a nightguard if you grind your teeth. We also offer warranty and maintenance plans.

Most patients who have had dental implants report they do return to work the next day, doing light duties i.e. paper work etc. We do advise 24 hours off from gym or sport or any physical activity.
Due to most of our dental implants now being placed using our computer guided stent technology (this would have been shown at your assessment appointment) we do not use stitches as we use a key hole surgery technique. On the odd occasion when a patient requires stiches these will be placed and you will receive after care instructions.
We always book a dedicated 2-hour slot for implant surgery patients; this is to insure we carry out the best possible infection control policies. The surgery will be turned into a mini operating theatre to keep everything sterile while performing the surgery. Most of our dental implant surgeries can he finished in 30 to 40 minutes, if you have more than 1 implant sometimes a little longer.
