What’s the cost for a beautiful smile?

What’s the cost for a beautiful smile?

We believe everyone wants a picture-perfect smile, but how much will it cost you to have a beautiful smile? No need to worry! In this blog, we will cover and explain the costs so you can understand more about the costs of a smile makeover!

First, let's get started with what a smile makeover is…

A smile makeover includes treatments such as the following:

Porcelain or composite veneers

Dental Crowns

Dental implants (Dental implants, all on four, or full mouth dental implants could be included)

Teeth whitening

Composite Binding

We don't want to overwhelm you with this extensive list of treatments, as you won't need all of these simultaneously. However, Combining these treatments for a smile makeover is common to achieve that perfect smile.

Giving a full breakdown and estimating the costs of a smile makeover can be difficult without knowing what treatments you may be required to get. But, we will give it our best try! Keep in mind that when we're talking about smile makeovers, we're not usually talking about treatments like tooth fillings or simple treatments with the NHS as this is cosmetic dentistry and, therefore, will be charged as such. It's also worth noting that cosmetic dentistry may not always be covered by dental insurance. So, if you plan to use insurance, you will need to check with your provider about what may or may not be covered.

Let’s start with veneers.

Veneers are a small cap covering that covers just the front of the tooth, you can get porcelain or composite veneers. There are major differences between the two materials such as durability, staining and quality, but one big difference between the two is the cost per veneer. Porcelain veneers typically start from around £700 per veneer, while composite veneers start from around £300 per veneer. You may be thinking, well why would I get porcelain veneers if they’re double the price of composite? We don’t blame you for thinking this, but the answer is simple, porcelain has unmatched strength and durability, however, those requiring small enhancements may happily opt for the composite veneers!

Dental Crowns

Dental crowns are coverage that goes on top of the tooth that covers the surfaces above the gum. The prices mirror that of veneers when you have this in both porcelain and composite. Dental crowns are generally used for those with deteriorated natural teeth or extensive damage, as the dental crown can then protect the tooth's remaining structure. In the case of many people who travel for dental tourism, unfortunately, they have dental crowns as opposed to veneers which cause unnecessary irreversible damage.

Missing Teeth

Having to replace a missing tooth is a huge part of a smile makeover. You have two options. You may opt for a removable denture to replace missing teeth, or you may want a fixed one such as dental implants for a more permanent and durable result. With this procedure, you may expect to pay around £500 to have a denture made for you, but this price will depend on the number of teeth you require. You may seek dentures to be done for you under the NHS for around 60% of the cost. However, they are not generally as good as the ones that can be provided to you privately, as there will be more options such as a Flexi denture.

Dental Implants

Dental implants' popularity has increased because of their natural appearance and low maintenance nature. In the UK, dental implants start from around £2000 per tooth. But, if the UK dental implant price is a little over the budget and you are willing to travel, you can have the treatment as a part of dental tourism. For anyone opting for dental tourism, we recommend visiting a UK dental practice that provides tourism links, as this ensures that you are cared for post-treatment and have good care. When opting for tourism, it often reduces the cost by 40%.

Teeth Whitening

You may have probably heard of teeth whitening treatment as it is a general procedure many people opt for each year. It boasts excellent results and does not damage your teeth in the process. So, how much will whitening cost you with a dentist? It will probably cost you around £350 with a dentist-certified whitening. Its results can last up to around a year and will only need to continue maintenance like a booster which will cost approximately £50. As this is a standard treatment offered by most dentists, you can usually visit your existing dental practice if you're planning to just go after a whitening treatment.

Composite Bonding

To correct the edges of the teeth, composite bonding is typically used for this and is a less invasive treatment than veneers. It can fix gaps in teeth, the length of teeth, or even any chips. Composite bonding can significantly impact someone's life, especially when paired with a whitening treatment. Per tooth, it will cost you usually around £150. Sometimes, your dentist may give you a discount if you're doing several teeth at any one time.

Whew! What a list that was! Now, I believe that this can all sound a bit too overwhelming. Still, as we have mentioned earlier, it is essential to visit your dentist first to discuss your needs as it will give you a better idea of what treatments you may need and may also answer your financial questions. If you can't find one that suits you or has been searching through dental clinics, feel free to check out our website to see our recommended cosmetic dentists! We also recommend doing lots of research on your selected dentist. Past the google search for 'dentists near me' because a great cosmetic dentist is a speciality! Therefore, you may want to pick the best that suits your budget!
